![]() The shrieking sizzle of darkness burning away, the lurch backwards as an enemy takes a bullet, the slow motion fwoooosh of your last kill of an encounter-absolute satisfaction. R Alan Wake Remastered will debut on October 5 this year. On GPUs from the GeForce RTX series, this is supposed to enable us to get more than 60 fps with maximum graphics settings at 4K resolution. And it’s further elevated by still impressive graphical flourishes and top notch sound design. It should be added that Alan Wake Remastered on PC will support Nvidias DLSS technology. Dodging around an axe-wielding maniac, shining a torch in his face to blast away his protective shroud of shadows, before blasting away with your revolver-it’s a really effective bit of design, and a lovely thumbing of the nose to the preceding era of cover shooters. Its combat is so original as to still feel refreshing. Remedy Entertainment Alan Wake is coming back on October 5th, and you'll be able to help him find his wife in 4K. Its surreal mystery, of a writer tormented by his own work come to life, is perhaps cheesy and melodramatic to modern ears, but no less charming and intriguing for it. Remedy has released a trailer for the remastered game. Graphical rough edges are largely disguised by most of the game taking place in foggy forests at night, with its bold use of light and shadow often still striking today. Fingers crossed. The thing is, even at over a decade old, Alan Wake holds up very well-especially the PC version. I also contacted Remedy and asked if they could bring this additional bonus to GOG as well. ![]() (Those last three videos and the demo trailers were also included in the CE DVDs I talked about earlier) The making of a Thriller.wmv (not the same as in the GOG version - it's 13 minutes long!) Harry Garett Show.wmv - talkshow with Alan Wake (not sure from which game or if it even was in the game) pdf - concept artsĪlan Wake Visual Identity Guidelines.pdf (seems to be adressed to marketing only - shows how the brand should look)ĪWAN Arcade Mode Narrations.pdf (screenplay of narration in AWAN)īalance Slays The Demon.wmv (music video from AWAN) They include:Īkan Wake Screenplay.pdf - screenplay (of course ))Īlan Wake The Library. I just downloaded the free bonus materials from Steam. Unfortunately both versions are still missing a lot of material (including a 30 minute long making of, the history of Remedy, several trailers and storyboard/gamplay comparisions) that was included on the retail CE DVD (2 bonus DVDs) If you should want and if you are allowed to add some of those bonus materials to celebrate this anniversary, I own this CE DVD - you know how to contact me :)įor those of you who are interested in what we are missing now compared to the Steam release (other than the OST). What's completely missing though is this free DLC (which is called additional bonus materials on Steam and which was added much later by Remedy so maybe they could add it here as well? I guess I will ask them - since it is the anniversary and all that ) The GOG version also contains three small making of videos which afaik are not in the Steam version (Building the Drama / Building the Technology / Building a Thriller - together about 10 minutes only). The video commentarys and the Alan Wake Files pfd is there. The things that are included in the CE on Steam are also included in the GOG version with one exception: the OST which afair never made it to GOG. Paradoks: Am I right to assume that Collector's Edition Extras are not available on GOG? It would be nice to see them here since they are available on Steam as DLC.
